After his hat-trick, Sankoh has a nice destination for the match ball

Born in Sierra Leone, Mohamed Sankoh can give something back to the children in his homeland through his hat-trick in the match against Almere City FC. The match ball will not find a place in his own home.

Heracles Almelo striker Sankoh entered the match at the Yanmar Stadium with three goals in the Eredivisie, and on Sunday afternoon, he doubled that tally. He opened the scoring early in the game, doubled the lead sixty minutes later, and completed his hat-trick a few minutes before the end.

This is good news for some children in Africa, as revealed in the interview with Sankoh on ESPN. 'I'm going to give the match ball to my mother, and she'll send the ball to Africa for me. The children there can play with it,' Sankoh expressed that his heart is in the right place.

Sankoh is currently on loan to Heracles, and the striker is under contract with VfB Stuttgart until mid-2026. The forward came through the youth academy of Sparta Rotterdam, moved to Stoke City in England at a young age, and has been playing for Stuttgart for the past three years. He has also previously played on loan for Vitesse.

Despite his impressive resume, Sankoh acknowledges that he still has much to learn. 'I always want to be the best, but I sometimes forget that I'm still new to football,' said the twenty-year-old striker.
