The Ukrainian switched from Shakhtar Donetsk to Chelsea last winter for a sum of nearly a hundred million euros, but Mudryk hasn't scored in 22 league games yet.
That's why Pochettino has made a special project of the flamboyant forward. The Argentine regularly plays "crossbar challenge" with Mudryk after training to boost the Ukrainian's confidence.
'He told me he doesn't want to play against me anymore because I always win,' Pochettino told the BBC. 'But I then tell him it'll be okay if he keeps believing in himself. He's still young and needs to get to know himself better.'
'If you don't believe in yourself, you don't believe in your abilities either,' the manager continued. 'That's why it's important that he starts beating me in the crossbar challenge. On Tuesday, we drew for the first time.'
The draw in training between Pochettino and Mudryk didn't have an effect on Tuesday evening. Chelsea did win 1-0 against Brighton, but Mudryk didn't score and was substituted after 68 minutes.
