Fowler made his debut at Al-Qadsiah at the beginning of July, but after just under four months, he has to pack his bags. It is still unclear why the current second-placed team in the first division has decided to part ways with the former striker from Liverpool, Leeds United, and Manchester City, effective immediately.
After eight matches, Al-Qadsiah is in second place behind Al-Orobah (by one point) and has not lost a single league game this season. Fowler was recently even honored and chosen as Coach of the Month.
At Al-Qadsiah, goalkeeper Joel Robles (formerly of Everton and Leeds), defender Álvaro González (of Villarreal and Olympique Marseille), and forward Luciano Vietto (of Valencia and Atlético Madrid) are potentially well-known names in the squad.
Within an hour after Al-Qadsiah announced the termination of their partnership with Fowler, the announcement for the new coach, Míchel Gonzalez, was made. The sixty-year-old Spaniard, who was a player for Real Madrid from 1982 to 1996, has previously coached teams such as Getafe, Sevilla, Olympiakos Piraeus, and Olympique Marseille.
