Manchester City allows Laporte to depart, but stands firm with Ortega

There is a lot of interest in Manchester City players, but coach Pep Guardiola is not planning to let everyone leave easily. According to various reports, City is making every effort to prevent goalkeeper Stefan Ortega from departing to Bayern Munich. Aymeric Laporte, on the other hand, is set to leave Manchester City.

According to The Athletic, Guardiola's team has accepted an offer from Al-Nassr for Laporte. The Spaniard, who saw limited playing time last season, reportedly is open to an adventure in Saudi Arabia, which suggests that his departure from The Citizens is a matter of time. This is especially true as Manchester City acquired a new defender in Josko Gvardiol this summer.

On the other hand, Ortega won't be given the green light to leave for Bayern Munich, Guardiola mentioned in a press conference prior to the UEFA Super Cup match against Sevilla. "He is a very important player for us. Losing him would be a problem," said the Spaniard.

"From day one, I've said that I find him a fantastic goalkeeper. In the Bundesliga, he has shown that he makes crucial saves in important matches. We really don't want to lose him. Additionally, two weeks before the transfer window closes, we can't just easily bring in a new goalkeeper."

Earlier, Bayern Munich had targeted Kepa and Bono, but they went to Real Madrid and Al-Hilal, respectively. The German club is now reportedly pursuing Mike Maignan from AC Milan or Wojciech Szczesny from Juventus to address their goalkeeper situation. Yann Sommer left for Inter Milan this summer, and Manuel Neuer is sidelined with an injury for several months.
