New experience for Mourinho: 'Those were kids from the academy'

After the fifth consecutive victory, AS Roma seems ready for the visit to league leaders Internazionale. However, supporters should not get too attached to the current winning streak, José Mourinho pointed out. 'They have two players for every position.'

With goals from Romelu Lukaku and Edoardo Bove, Roma finished off Slavia Prague within twenty minutes in the Europa League (2-0). The comfortable victory was good news looking forward to Sunday, when the capital city team has an away game against Inter on the agenda. However, José Mourinho himself will not be there due to a suspension.

In the Italian media, the Portuguese manager tempered expectations in advance. 'Unfortunately, we're talking about two totally different squads. Inter has two teams in one. They can give players rest and rotate because they have two players for every position. That means they have a lot of energy and intensity.'

Different in Rome

The situation in Rome is different, according to Mourinho. 'The five players who were warming up against Slavia were all kids from the academy. That’s tough, a new experience in my career. When I came down, I felt someone hug me. That was Luigi Cherubini. I'm sure there is a party tonight in the San Basilio neighborhood since a local boy made his debut for Roma.'
