Koeman is missing a handful of defenders at the Johan Cruijff Arena. To make matters worse, Jeremie Frimpong and Lutsharel Geertruida also withdrew from the match against the Irish due to injuries. In the heart of the defense, Koeman has reserved a spot for De Vrij. Daley Blind and Virgil van Dijk are also centrally positioned at the back.

Denzel Dumfries, playing his fiftieth international match, and Quilindschy Hartman are the full-backs. In the midfield, Koeman has surprisingly chosen Schouten. The PSV player made his comeback in the Dutch national team during this international break and is set for his second international appearance.

In the attack, Xavi Simons, Wout Weghorst, and Cody Gakpo, who has returned from injury, are starting. As announced, Bart Verbruggen is in goal. The Dutch national team knows what needs to be done. With a victory over Ireland, the Netherlands secures a spot in EURO 2024.
