Quique Flores will not be Sevilla's coach next season. The confirmation came this Saturday from the club's president, José María del Nido Carrasco.

"Quique and I agreed last night that he will not be Sevilla's coach starting June 30. He worked very hard, achieved the goal, and I tell him that Sevilla will always be his home. We appreciate the magnificent work he did in the situation we were in," the president stated in a press conference.

Quique Flores, who previously managed Benfica, joined Sevilla last December when the club was perilously close to the relegation zone. Under his leadership, the team has seen a remarkable turnaround. With two rounds left in the Spanish championship, Sevilla is in 12th place with 41 points, thus ensuring their stay in La Liga for another season. This achievement has been pivotal for the club, considering the dire circumstances they were in before his arrival.

Flores' tenure at Sevilla, although brief, has been marked by a series of important victories and improved performances. His strategic acumen and ability to motivate the team have been widely praised. Despite the challenges, he managed to stabilize the team and steer them clear of relegation, an outcome that seemed unlikely at the beginning of his term.

Before his stint at Sevilla, Quique Flores had an extensive managerial career. He began his coaching career with Getafe, and subsequently took charge of Valencia, where he enjoyed considerable success. His time at Atlético Madrid is particularly noteworthy; under his management, Atlético won the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2010. Flores also had managerial spells at Espanyol, where he was credited with developing a competitive squad, and at Watford in the English Premier League, where he became known for his tactical versatility and ability to adapt to different leagues and challenges.

Flores' managerial journey has taken him across various leagues and countries, showcasing his adaptability and skill in handling diverse teams and situations. His reputation as a stabilizer and builder of teams has been well-earned, as evidenced by his ability to secure Sevilla's position in La Liga despite the odds.

Looking ahead, Sevilla will now begin the search for a new head coach who can build on the foundation Flores has laid. The club aims to continue its upward trajectory and compete for higher positions in La Liga next season. Meanwhile, Quique Flores' future remains open, with many speculating about where he will bring his expertise next. Given his track record, he is likely to attract interest from several clubs looking for a seasoned manager capable of making an immediate impact.
