Ramsdale's father furious at Carragher: 'You're a disgrace'

Carragher responded to footage of Ramsdale applauding, after his rival David Raya made an impressive save in the derby against Tottenham Hotspur (2-2). 'In truth, he's devastated,' the Sky Sports analyst commented. 'It was like the Oscars. 

When one of the nominees loses, they start clapping and cheering enthusiastically for the winner. I had to laugh when I saw Ramsdale cheering like that, because he's crushed by the situation. I'm certain of it.'

Nick Ramsdale, the father of the sidelined goalkeeper, didn't appreciate the remark from the Liverpool legend. He responded furiously on social media: 'You are a disgrace, show some class. That's what my son did as well.'

However, Mikel Arteta did commend Ramsdale's attitude. The manager is pleased with the way he's handling his unexpected backup role. 'You want players to feel loved and trusted, but above all, they feel valued when they play. If they're not playing, they struggle. But he understands it's a team sport.'
