Tuchel takes stock after Oktoberfest and confirms De Ligt's absence

Bayern Munich is preparing for the DFB Pokal match against Preußen Münster without Matthijs de Ligt. Coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed on Monday that the defender won't be able to play after he sustained an injury in the match against VfL Bochum.

It is expected that Tuchel will make several changes to the lineup that convincingly defeated VfL Bochum on Saturday. 'We have many midweek matches coming up, but I haven't made a final decision about which eleven players will start tomorrow,' the coach of Der Rekordmeister stated during a press conference.

Tuchel announced that goalkeeper Daniel Peretz will make his debut. The 23-year-old Israeli joined from Maccabi Tel Aviv last summer. 'I also expect to be able to use Raphaël Guerreiro, but De Ligt won't be playing. Dayot Upamecano and Min-jae Kim are doubtful,' Tuchel noted. Further examination revealed that the damage to De Ligt was not severe.

Tuchel didn't confirm if Harry Kane would start against Preußen Münster, but the striker's name did come up during the press conference. The Bayern coach mentioned that Leroy Sané has played a role in Kane's strong start with Bayern. 'Leroy and Harry are connecting really well right now. Leroy speaks fluent English and talks a lot with Harry. With Harry, we have a forward who also makes his teammates play better.'

On Saturday, Kane expressed his excitement about his first Oktoberfest. Tuchel was also there, holding a pint of beer. 'It was a modest celebration,' the coach said with a smile. 'I went home around five on Sunday. Some of the lads stayed a bit longer. And that's fine, two days before a match. They behaved themselves.'
