Xavi does have an explanation for Barcelona's spectacular comeback

On Saturday, Barcelona appeared to be on their way to their first defeat of the season, but thanks to three late goals in the match, everything turned out well against Celta de Vigo: 3-2. Xavi had certainly enjoyed the spectacular comeback but was also immediately critical.

At the Olympic Stadium, where Barcelona plays its home games due to the renovation of Camp Nou, Jørgen Strand Larsen and Anastasios Douvikas gave Celta de Vigo a 0-2 lead. Robert Lewandowski equalized the score with two goals (2-2) before João Cancelo became the matchwinner just before the end of regular time: 3-2.

"It's been a spectacular comeback," said Xavi after the match to Movistar. "We really believed in it until the end and played with courage. This was a comeback of faith, of the desire to win. We didn't play well, so you have to rely on moments like this."

After falling behind 0-2, Xavi had trouble maintaining confidence in a positive outcome. "Normally, you don't turn this around," acknowledged the Barcelona coach. "But we took more and more risks, and in the end, we were left with only two central defenders and mostly attacking players. We had to, and it worked out very well for us."

"But we will need to analyze our mistakes," Xavi immediately became critical of his team. Because before the miraculous remontada, Barcelona didn't perform well. "This was certainly not our best game. There were good things, but we need to play better."

Matchwinner João Cancelo was thrilled with his contribution to the victory. "I actually played a very bad game," said the Portuguese player. "I made a lot of mistakes, but you have to stay focused and see what can happen. It was enough to get us three points."

Barcelona fans are already calling for Cancelo to stay longer, as he is on loan from Manchester City for this season. "We'll see," grinned the fullback. "It's all about performance. If I do well, the club will love me, and if I don't perform, the club will kick me out. We have to take it game by game, step by step.
